CARPET are no strangers to putting on an amazing show here at The Sugarmill. After their awesome headline show last December, they began moving ever-upward, supporting The Futureheads here in May; and a few other amazing bands nationally.
They’re now returning to The Sugarmill to show us yet again a different side to their seemingly boundless talent, by presenting a more matured, stripped down set.
ARRAN GEORGE – ”Beneath the sparkling guitar riffs and George’s thick Northern accent, there’s a darkness that is entwined with every word that comes out his mouth. You can feel the whole experience and the tedium of looking out at the blank wall as George bellows into the echoing darkness” writes Line of Best Fit, a fitting description to the album titled “What I See on Daytime TV”, written, recorded, and produced entirely by Arran George in his bedroom up in Cumbria, UK, although the side with less Sunday hikes and more nuclear waste Arran would point out.
Initially uploading a couple of his songs from the album to soundcloud for some feedback, it quickly picked up industry attention and support from blogs including Complex, Consequence of sound, Clash, the 405 and Line of Best Fit.
